Airport Long-Term Viability Study

Thanks to the support of our members, the Alberta Airport’s Management Association (AAMA) recently completed a thorough analysis on the long-term sustainability of small and regional airports.

Our report reveals that 78% of community airports in Alberta are not self-sustaining. They are grappling with the challenge of maintaining the necessary infrastructure and operations to continue providing vital services such as emergency medevac and aerial firefighting.

The changing regulatory landscape, increased requirements from provincial air operators, and a decline in regional air service connectivity have underscored the significant challenges facing Alberta’s network of small and regional airports.

We invite you to join us in our effort to raise awareness about these challenges. We are hosting a webinar to discuss the study’s findings and outline the next steps. We encourage you to sign up for this informative session below. For your convenience, a copy of the study is available at the provided link. Your involvement can make a significant difference. Thank you for your support.
